ABOUT THE ARTIST

Milo is a master craftsman who produces unique one-of-a-kind functional and non-functional works of art from various recycled materials and renewable resources.  His work addresses the viewers’ senses and emotions through sight and touch.

Milo uses his sense of design to work with various media and design elements to bring them to their simplest and most pure form.  The combination of sight and touch are the only way the true beauty and depth of the wood and his various creations can be fully experienced.  His creativity and design abilities marry with the integrity and personality of the various mediums to come together in a partnership that often leaves the viewer to ponder…”how did he do that?”

Milo has always had a great love of the arts from a very early age and spent his spare time visiting various museums, absorbing all the art that he could. It was his destiny to be an artist – he is always creating things, whether in his mind, on paper or with the many opportunities that life presents each day. His passion and love of design shine through in each of his one-of-a-kind art objects; destined to become treasured heirlooms for those who choose to adopt them. Wood is like a child, it cries out for attention and needs to be touched.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Working with wood, for me, is a spiritual experience that brings me closer to understanding one of the most versatile products that we have. The tree provides us with so many options that are very often taken for granted. It provides us shade, warmth and shelter among a few things, and always, unseen beauty. It has served mankind and endured for centuries; it adds that touch of warmth to any room. It is the classic medium of expression that has held true throughout the ages and for those who love it, they must be able to feel it to really see it.

The inspiration for many of my pieces comes from the wood itself, this goes back to the reoccurring theme, “let the wood have a say in its’ ultimate conclusion.”
